What does i-Size mean?

i-Size (R129) is a new legislation that aims to make car seats even safer than before. i-Size (R129) car seats offer ISOFIX installation, rearward facing travelling up to at least 15 months, and improved safety standards for additional protection for head and neck. Can I install the Maxi-Cosi Pebble Pro i-Size with 3wayFix on the front passenger seat?

Yes, you may install the Maxi-Cosi Pebble Pro i-Size onto the 3wayFix on the front passenger seat if that seat has ISOFIX anchor points. Most cars do not have ISOFIX anchorages in the front passenger seat. If so, it is VERY IMPORTANT to make sure that the airbag has been deactivated!

Can I use the Pebble Pro i-Size on the FamilyFix, EasyFix or EasyBase 2?

The Pebble Pro i-Size does not fit on the FamilyFix, EasyFix or EasyBase 2. It is part of a different and thoroughly tested safety concept together, such as the 3wayFix base. This combination complies with the stringent i-Size (R129) safety regulation.

Can I install the Pebble Pro i-Size by the using the 3-point safety belt on my car?

Yes you can install the Pebble Pro i-Size by using the 3-point safety car seat belt, just like all other baby car seats of Maxi-Cosi. The safety level of an installation with a safety belt gives an ECE R44/04 safety performance though, so we recommend to always use the Pebble Pro i-Size on one of the compatible Maxi-Cosi ISOFIX bases, such as the Maxi-Cosi 3wayFix in order to achieve the highest, i-Size (R129) compliant safety performance.

Can the Pebble Pro i-Size be installed in the car using a 2-point seat belt system?

The Pebble Pro i-Size is not designed to be installed using a 2-point seat belt system. The car seat may only be installed using a 3-point seat belt system (approved in accordance with the ECE R16 standard) or, preferably, onto one of the compatible Maxi-Cosi ISOFIX bases, such as the Maxi-Cosi 3wayFix, which is attached directly to the ISOFIX anchor points in the car. Installation on an ISOFIX base achieve the highest, i-Size (R129) compliant safety performance.

Should the carrying handle on my infant car seat Maxi-Cosi Pebble Pro i-Size be placed in an upright position when installed in the car?

The carrying handle is part of the safety concept of Maxi-Cosi infant car seats and must always be placed upright when driving. Read the user manual of the car seat. Placing the carrying handle in the upright position protects the child in the event that the car seat rotates towards the back of the rear car seat. The carrying handle also protects against any large objects that might fly through the air near the child. Once the child is securely fastened in the harnesses, his or her head and arms will not hit the carrying handle in the event of an accident.

Can the Maxi-Cosi Pebble Pro i-Size be used in the airplane?

Yes, the Maxi-Cosi Pebble Pro i-Size can be used in an airplane. The seat has special certification for this purpose (TUV certificate).
